because waiting is the hardest part.
It's been four hard years in the making, and that deserves a celebration! Kick off your fall festivities as we publicly unveil our release of Davidson Reserve Genesis Whiskey, Pennington’s oldest whiskey. We’re extremely proud of this very limited release – and only have 1017 bottles. Since this is the first whiskey we ever put into barrels, when it’s gone, it’s gone for good. Davidson Reserve Genesis is the first Bottled-In-Bond bourbon distilled in Nashville since Prohibition, and now is your chance to score your very own bottle of history.
October 17th marks the four year anniversary of the laying of our first barrel to age. Over the next few years, we will continue to release various whiskey expressions and run our roots deeper into Nashville soil. On site, we will have food by Urban Grub and an opportunity to get your first edition bottle before it hits your local retailers' shelves! Humans must be 21+. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed.
Davidson Reserve Genesis Whiskey
Davidson Reserve Genesis is the first bottle-in-bond whiskey from Nashville since prohibition. Bottled-in-bond whiskey must be produced in one distillation season (January-June or July-December) by one distillery, it must age in a federally bonded warehouse for at least 4 years, and be bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). This special whiskey marks the first we distilled and barreled at Pennington Distilling Co. We make Davidson Reserve Genesis from a mashbill of 70% corn, 25% rye, and 5% barley.
Only 1,017 bottles of Davidson Reserve Genesis were produced to commemorate the date it was barreled, 10/17/14 and bottled on 10/17/18. Davidson Reserve Genesis represents the origin of our whiskey, and this years Hardest Harvest will be your best opportunity to get your hands on a bottle of your own.
Kicking off the tone for the night will be the local R&B and Soul group Alanna Royale. Alana has a commanding voice and some serious songwriting skills, and a multi-piece band that packs a punch.
Our main act for the evening is The Band Of Heathens. Hailing from Austin, TX, the term "Americana" was practically invented to describe The Band Of Heathens' approach to music, which has mutated almost as much as the genre. Influences like The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and Sly And The Family Stone can all be heard throughout their eight albums with touches of country, rock, Latin and more.
In keeping with last year’s event, we will have food available on site by Urban Grub.
